Nearly 1,100 turn out for a 'Holiday Salute to the Military'

The 287th Army Band held its Third Annual Holiday Concert on Tuesday, December 11th. This year’s theme was a Holiday Salute to the Military and was held at The Grand Opera House in Wilmington. Joining the band this year was the Tatnall Concert Choirs, who provided the salute by performing numerous patriotic songs before the band took the stage for some holiday cheer. The Grand Opera House, the City of Wilmington, state legislators, Senator Dallas Winslow (former Delaware Guardsman), and Representative Joseph Di Pinto, and nearly 1,100 attendees contributed to the event. Due to their generous donations, we were able to collect much-appreciated comfort items and raise more than $1,250 to help support our deployed service members and their families this holiday season. A great time was had by all and we look forward to next year’s concert – or concerts!
